Chapter 26

Day 198-Let There Be Cleanse-Marcus

As April marches around me, I hear distant chuckling. My meditation takes me further from the others as I delve deep inside myself. My sliver flame grows closer, and a few moments later, I stop and stare and the mystical fire. The same sparks float free, and I focus on capturing a Light ember.

“Come here little ember,” I whisper.

As if waiting for my command, an ember floats into the air. Pulsing a soft gold, the Light ember grows closer. When it’s within reach, it stops and pulses slightly brighter.

“Here goes nothing.” Reaching out a tough the source of magic and focus on creating my newest spell.

Synchronizing with Light.

Generating new spell.

Light spell: Cleanse generating.

Cleanse-A spell that will allow you to cleanse the body of any ailments and negative effects. You can also use it to cleanse the body of filth leaving behind a slightly floral scent. Permanently prevents possession and curses on owner. Casting cleanse on an ally will prevent possession and curses for one hour.

Spell generation complete

Cost: Three hundred PIGS power.

Remaining balance: Zero

“Well that’s that,” I say, brushing off my hands, I wave away the ember.

Coming out of my mediation, I smile when I hear April still marching around me. Mavis has her back to me as she scans the tree line, waiting for an attack. The corpses of the chimeras have been picked clean of proofs, and the girls are currently working on the pixie. Gagging as they do their best to avoid the blood.

Groaning and stretching, I let the party know I’m back. April perks up and rushes to my side, reaching out to help me to my feet.

“Did it work, Master?” she asks. Her excitement clearly shows on her face.

“It did. I’ll wait until everyone is ready before I use it.”

April starts to pout as I tell her she has to wait. “Master. We stink though.”

Ruffling her hair, I turn to Mavis and ask, “What proofs are they gathering?”

Mavis turns to me and points over her shoulder. “Teeth. We would take the eyes as well, but April destroyed them.”

“Are they almost done?”

Mavis nods and turns back to the girls. “They are. Only a few more minutes and they will be down here.”

Sitting back down, I start to wait out the last few minutes. April joins me by kneeling down, poking my satchel. “Master?”

“No, you can’t have any,” I tell her.

“I was going to ask if we were going to camp soon.”

“Oh.” Turning to her, I nod towards the forest. “I want to get closer to the dungeon before we break.”

Mavis steps over, and answers for me. “Yes. We should be there in an hour or two.”

“That’s good. This forest is going to be creepy when it gets dark,” April says, looking around.

Once she’s distracted, I grab her leg and yell, “Boo!”

With a scream, she spins and punches me in the face. “Master!” she scolds.

Rubbing my sore jaw, and bleeding lip, earns me a sympathetic look from the dragon. “Well, I deserved that,” I admit.
